Family run business with roots in the camping industry

3.8 Decades of Innovation

1987

CompuSoft is founded

CompuSoft is established and gains its first customer in Denmark – a customer who remains active nearly 40 years later and uses the latest generation of the platform.

1993

CompuMat Access Control System is developed and launched

Launch of CompuSoft’s proprietary hardware series for energy, facility, and access systems. The latest generation remains backward compatible with the original units – a testament to the focus on reliability, service, and long lifespan.

1997

The booking system goes online

Shortly after the internet became widespread in the 1990s, CompuSoft's booking system became one of the first of its kind in the world to go online.

1999

CompuSoft becomes a limited company (A/S)

CompuSoft transitions into a limited liability company, strengthening its structure, leadership responsibility, and future growth potential.

1999

Online booking for campsites is invented

The first generation of online booking for campsites is launched. Over 25 years later, the third generation remains a leader in conversion performance, uptime, and user-friendliness.

2003

Launch of Windows-compatible booking platform

The booking system receives a comprehensive update to support the Windows operating system.

2005

CompuSoft Private Cloud

Launch of CompuSoft's Private Cloud – a proprietary data center for hosting client applications and web services such as online booking and payment gateways.

Entry into the South African market with the first local customer

2005

Entry into the Faroese market with the first local customer

2006

Entry into the Swedish market with the first local customer

2007

First self-service terminal is launched

First generation of CompuTouch – self-service kiosks for check-in, check-out, and payments.

2007

Entry into the DACH markets with the first local partners

(Germany, Austria, Switzerland)

2008

First version of web-based PMS back office is launched

2009

CompuTouch is upgraded to support cash payments and refunds

2009

Second generation online booking is launched

Now with more graphics, mobile optimization, and expanded shopping cart functions.

2009

Entry into Greenland with the first local customer

2010

First version of ANPR integration implemented

Automatic Number Plate Recognition makes guest check-in even smoother, more welcoming, and efficient.

2011

CompuTouch is expanded with automatic dispensing of access media

E.g. access cards and keys.

2011

Entry into the Norwegian market with the first local customer

2013

Move to new headquarters

To accommodate the growing organization, the headquarters move to Sunekær 9 in Søndersø. At the same time, a new redundant data center is established to increase cybersecurity and capacity.

2015

Launch of CompuSoft Channel Manager

First direct integration with Booking.com in Scandinavia. The system is continuously expanded with more channels and digital onboarding.

2017

Second generation ticketing system is launched

Launched for online, back office, and kiosks – including features like payment subscriptions, event management, waiting lists, and modern auth integrations.

2018

Online Booking V3 is launched

Launch of the third generation online booking with true embedding on customer websites, lightning-fast performance, and advanced price and availability control.

2018

Launch of the cWallet guest app

Guest app with a true focus on the camping experience. Check-in, pay, open the barrier, share with friends and family. The most requested features by campers and campsites. Since then, the app has been expanded and upgraded with numerous features.

By 2025, it exceeds 500,000 users and supports the entire CompuSoft ecosystem with functions like self-service, upselling, integrations, and guest information.

2021

Launch of second-generation web-based POS

The latest POS solution is directly accessible via CompuSoft’s web platform and works on all devices. A user-friendly layout designer makes it easy for anyone to quickly configure their POS with images, colors, and menus. The system also includes new features for dynamic discounts, ticket sales, packages, and more. It is expanded with a native F&B module (table reservation, takeaway, automated kitchen/bar communication) and integrates with coupon codes, the customer database, and all payment methods.

2021

Installation of 50 kW solar power system

As part of CompuSoft's green transition, a 50 kW solar system is commissioned to power the CompuSoft private cloud hosting center, combined with a battery bank as a buffer.

2022

Transition to microservice architecture

The booking system transitions to a microservice architecture, improving scalability, robustness, and performance – future-proofing the platform.

2023

Establishment of own 25/50 kW wind turbine

Own wind turbine established – the data center becomes 100% powered by renewable energy, with backup from batteries and the grid.

2024

Online booking facelift

Online booking receives a facelift with optimized conversion, design, and expanded module options (e.g. availability calendar).

2024

Official Airbnb Partner

Direct integration with Airbnb is launched, and CompuSoft becomes an official Airbnb partner.

2025

Relaunch of web-based booking back office

Complete relaunch of the web-based booking back office, based on nearly 40 years of experience. The most powerful, fast, and automated generation of the booking platform to date – created in close collaboration with CompuSoft’s customers and daily users.
